St Albans City Centre Vision

We spoke today at the St Albans City Centre Vision conference.  It was a delight to be part of this, our first virtual conference, with a very active discussion and engagement from all involved.

We spoke about the need to build flexible and resilient high streets, able to cope with the many challenges facing them now and in the future. We also discussed our core design principles used to help to create thriving, social and productive high streets. And the spatial possibilities for reworking existing retail spaces into something new.

It was also great to hear what is happening in St Albans, it is a wonderful city, with a rich history and historic fabric, green spaces and a vibrant business community.

We were joined by Councillor Robert Donald, Sarah Gillow and Mary McNiel from the BID and Steve Millington from the Institute for Place Management.

Thanks to Tim Boatswain from the Civic Society and Vanessa Sharp from the BID for the invite.
